“Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
In Gethsemane, Jesus did not ask His disciples for strategy — He asked for company. He still invites you to keep watch near Him.
Prayer comes before temptation, not after the stumble. Watching means noticing the danger while there is still time to call for help.
“The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak” — Jesus knows us without contempt. He names the weakness in order to shield us from it.
The cross was won first in the garden, in prayer. Your greatest victories also begin kneeling, before the fight arrives.
No one wakes up strong overnight; watchfulness grows through small daily vigils. Start small and stay steady.
Act: before breakfast, keep a two-minute watch — name today's most likely temptation and ask for strength before it arrives.
